Crepes Recipe

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour: 1 cup
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Milk: ½ cup
  • Water: ½ cup
  • Salt: ¼ teaspoon
  • Butter (melted): 2 tablespoons

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prepare the Batter

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and eggs until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
  2. Gradually add the milk and water, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  3. Add the salt and melted butter, then whisk until the batter is completely smooth and has a thin, pourable consistency.
Tip: Let the batter rest for 15-30 minutes for even better texture!

2. Heat the Pan

  1. Heat a lightly oiled non-stick skillet or crepe pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Test the heat by sprinkling a drop of water on the pan; it should sizzle and evaporate quickly.

3. Cook the Crepes

  1. Pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the center of the pan.
  2. Quickly lift and tilt the pan in a circular motion to spread the batter evenly into a thin layer.
  3. Cook for about 1-2 minutes, or until the edges start to lift and the bottom is a light golden-brown color.
  4. Loosen the edges with a spatula, then carefully flip the crepe. Cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute on the other side.

4. Serve and Enjoy

  1. Slide the crepe onto a plate and repeat with the remaining batter, lightly oiling the pan as needed.
  2. Stack cooked crepes with parchment paper between them to prevent sticking.
  3. Serve hot with your favorite toppings like:
    • Sweet: Nutella, fresh fruit, whipped cream, powdered sugar, honey, or jam.
    • Savory: Ham, cheese, sautéed mushrooms, or spinach.

Crepes are versatile and perfect for any meal—breakfast, dessert, or even dinner!

Enjoy!
