Homemade Herbal Massage Oil

The claims in the image are not supported by scientific evidence. No homemade oil has been proven to eliminate uric acid from the blood, cure anxiety, treat chronic arthritis or rheumatism, or stop cravings for cigarettes and alcohol. If you have gout, arthritis, or nicotine dependence, it’s best to use treatments that have been shown to work.

If you’re looking for a traditional herbal massage oil that may help relax sore muscles and joints (but is not a cure for the conditions listed), here’s a safe recipe.

Homemade Herbal Massage Oil

Ingredients

  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons dried rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons dried ginger slices
  • 1 tablespoon dried turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon whole black peppercorns
  • 1 tablespoon dried eucalyptus leaves (optional)
  • 5–10 drops lavender essential oil (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Herbs

Make sure all herbs are completely dry. Moisture can cause the oil to spoil.

Step 2: Combine the Ingredients

Place the rosemary, ginger, turmeric, black peppercorns, and eucalyptus leaves into a clean glass jar. Pour the olive oil over the herbs until they are fully covered.

Step 3: Warm the Mixture

Place the sealed jar in a bowl of warm (not boiling) water for about 1–2 hours, replacing the water as it cools. Alternatively, let the jar infuse in a sunny window for 2–3 weeks, shaking it gently every day.

Step 4: Strain

Pour the oil through a fine strainer or cheesecloth into a clean bottle, removing all the herbs.

Step 5: Add Essential Oil

If desired, stir in the lavender essential oil.

How to Use

Massage a small amount of the oil onto sore muscles or stiff joints for 5–10 minutes. Use once or twice daily as needed.

Storage

Keep the oil in a cool, dark place. It can usually be stored for up to 6 months if prepared with dry ingredients and kept in a clean, sealed container.

Important Notes

  • This oil is for external use only.
  • Do not apply it to broken or irritated skin.
  • Stop using it if you develop redness, itching, or irritation.
  • It does not remove uric acid from the blood or treat gout.
  • It does not cure anxiety, arthritis, rheumatism, or nicotine or alcohol addiction.

If your goal is to lower uric acid naturally,  I can also provide an evidence-based diet and drink plan that may help reduce gout flare-ups alongside medical treatment.
