Hot Fudge Pie
A decadent dessert with a gooey, fudgy center that’s somewhere between a brownie and molten cake. Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Ingredients:
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease an 8-inch pie pan with butter or cooking spray.
2. Cream the Butter and Sugar:
- In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
3. Mix the Wet Ingredients:
- Add the eggs and vanilla to the butter-sugar mixture and mix well by hand.
4. Incorporate the Dry Ingredients:
- Add cocoa powder, salt, and flour. Stir gently by hand until the mixture is well combined. (Hand-mixing ensures a gooey texture, so avoid using a mixer at this stage.)
5. Pour into Pan:
- Pour the batter into the greased pie pan and spread evenly.
6. Bake:
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the center is just set. The edges should be firm, while the center remains soft and gooey.
7. Serve Warm:
- Let the pie cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of hot fudge sauce for an extra indulgence.
Tips:
- Gooey Texture: Be careful not to overbake to keep the gooey center intact.
- Flavor Boost: Add a pinch of espresso powder to enhance the chocolate flavor.
- Storage: Store leftovers (if there are any!) at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the fridge for up to 5 days. Reheat slices in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to restore the gooeyness.
Enjoy this luscious Hot Fudge Pie—a chocolate lover’s dream!
